LPG reducers
LPG reducers in car gas installations
The LPG reducer, also known as an LPG vaporiser, is a key component of a car's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) system. It acts as a 'pressure regulator', reducing the gas pressure from the tank to a level suitable for the engine's needs.
Operating principle and features of the LPG regulator
Gas intake: The regulator draws liquid LPG from the tank, where the pressure can reach 8-10 bar.
Gas vaporisation: Inside the regulator, liquid LPG is vaporised into a gaseous state.
Pressure reduction: The gradual reduction of the gas pressure to the operating level, e.g. 1.5-2 bar.
Gas filtering: Cleansing the gas of impurities before it is fed to the engine.
Gas supply to the engine: The regulator delivers the gas to the gas injectors, which dispense the gas into the intake manifold or directly into the cylinders.
Types of LPG regulators
Diaphragm regulators: The most common type, used in most LPG installations.
Piston regulators: Less common, but offer greater precision in pressure regulation.
Electronic regulators: Modern models with automatic pressure and temperature control.

Advantages of LPG reducers
Stable gas pressure: Provide constant gas pressure, resulting in smooth engine operation.
High efficiency: Efficient vaporisation and reduction of gas pressure.
Long life: Made of durable materials and resistant to wear.
