Direct injection

Controllers - direct injection

The LPG control unit for direct injection cars performs more complex tasks than for indirect injection engines. This is due to the fact that in direct injection engines petrol is metered directly into the cylinders and not into the intake manifold.

Main controller functions in LPG direct injection engines

Petrol injection management: the controller injects a small amount of petrol into the cylinders, even when running on gas. This is necessary to cool and lubricate the petrol injectors, which in direct injection engines operate under extreme conditions. The petrol dosage must be precisely matched to the current operating conditions of the engine.

Gas dosing: The controller doses the LPG into the cylinders so that the optimum fuel-air mixture is achieved. The gas dosage must be accurately selected on the basis of readings of engine operating parameters such as RPM, load, engine temperature and intake manifold pressure.

Switching between petrol and LPG: The controller controls the switching between petrol and LPG supply. The decision to switch is usually based on engine temperature, engine rpm and other parameters.

Adaptation to different conditions: LPG controllers for direct injection engines have extensive features for adapting to different engine conditions and gas quality. This enables them to ensure optimal engine operation in different situations.

Fault diagnostics: LPG controllers have error diagnostics functions to detect faults in the LPG system. Error information can be displayed on an LED display or read out using a diagnostic computer.

Communication with other systems: LPG controllers for direct injection engines can communicate with other systems in the car, such as the engine control system (ECU) and the traction control system (TCS).

Types of LPG controllers for direct injection engines

There are many different types of LPG controllers for direct injection engines, which vary in features, capabilities and price. The most common types of controllers are:

Sequential injection controllers with petrol injection: the most modern and accurate controllers that ensure optimal engine operation, minimum emissions and maximum fuel economy.

Universal controllers with petrol injection: Adaptable to various car models and LPG systems, they offer basic control and petrol injection functions.

Choosing an LPG system controller for a direct injection engine

When selecting an LPG system controller for a direct injection engine, there are several factors to consider:

Car model: Some controllers are designed for specific car models. In the ZAMEL offer you will find installations for direct injection by KME and AEB. We work closely with the technicians of these manufacturers and each time we consult the selection of direct injection LPG system for a specific engine model.

Features: Desirable functions such as adaptation to different conditions, fault diagnosis, possibility of connection to a diagnostic computer.

Price: LPG controllers for direct injection engines may vary in price from several hundred to even several thousand PLN.

Installation and service of the LPG system controller

The installation and service of the LPG system controller should always be carried out by a qualified and certified mechanic. The condition of the controller should be checked regularly and the LPG system should be serviced periodically in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
