Adjustment of the LPG/CNG system
The adjustment of the LPG/CNG system is the process of adapting its working parameters to the proper functioning of the engine. It applies to both LPG and CNG installations and is aimed at ensuring optimum combustion of gas, which translates into smooth engine operation, fuel economy and minimisation of harmful emissions.
Objectives of LPG/CNG system adjustment
Determining the optimum gas dosage: Adjustment allows the precise adjustment of the amount of gas supplied to the engine, ensuring the optimum composition of the air-gas mixture.
Setting the correct gas pressure: Adjusting the gas pressure affects the injection force and the correct atomisation of gas in the intake manifold.
Adjusting the controller parameters: Modern gas installations have electronic controllers whose operating parameters can be adjusted to optimise gas combustion.
