CNG valves
The CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) valve, or pressurised natural gas valve, is an integral part of a vehicle's CNG supply system. It is the component that controls the flow of compressed natural gas from the tank to the engine.
The CNG valve has several basic functions:
Flow control: the CNG valve regulates the flow of gas from the tank to the engine. Depending on the needs of the engine, it can increase or decrease the amount of gas sent to the supply system.
Safety: the CNG valve is also a safety device. In the event of a malfunction or accident, the valve automatically shuts off the gas flow to prevent possible leaks.
ECU interaction: In some modern systems, the CNG valve can interact with the engine computer (ECU) to adjust the gas supply according to the engine's current needs, allowing for optimum combustion and efficiency.
As with LPG, CNG systems must be installed by specialists and serviced regularly to ensure safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.
